Need Gum Gone? Chewing gum removal is a sticky business, whether it is on your concrete, parking lot or on the side of a building, chewing gum eventually turns into a black smudge on concrete. But usually before that point, pedestrians and clients coming into a store or office will walk on it and get it in all over the carpets, rugs and mats. Then it is forced deep into the carpet fibers and into the porous surface of concrete, just waiting for someone to step in it again, to track it somewhere else in your building.
We are proud to provide gum removal as one of our commercial pressure washing services in Lakeland FL. Find more information about our methods below:
The best methods for removing gum from concrete usually depends on how long the gum has been there and level of penetration into the concrete surface. If the gum was left not long ago and it has not penetrated the surface yet, we might be able to get it off by covering it with ice until it freezes, then scraping the gum off with a metal putty knife.
The ice forces the chewing gum to freeze into a workable consistency compared to a gooey and sticky glob. Once the chewing gum is frozen, we slide a putty knife or scraper directly under the gum. After that we move the scraper slowly beneath the gum and the entire piece should peel right off of the concrete.
The above method is only possible with brand new gum.
When we remove gum that has turned black, or is already smashed down into the concrete surface, we use a hot water power washer with the heat dialed up to 200 Degrees to melt the gum. For this type of gum removal service, we won’t use high pressure because that could damage the surface of the concrete!
Our team never uses any more pressure than necessary to clean commercial concrete. These surfaces can be damaged a lot easier than most people think, especially if they’re only 1-2 years old. Concrete can need up to 100 years to cure completely. That is why we always use hot water and the least amount of pressure possible for our chewing gum removal service.
To remove gum from parking lots and other commercial surfaces we use specially designed hot water pressure washing tools and professional-grade soaps that enable us to effectively clean the surface without causing any damages.
Using special 200 degree hot water power washers and low pressure, we are able to safely remove chewing gum and surface dirt all while protecting the surface. Our process will also destroy bacteria and germs that are found in gum on concrete.
By hiring Lakeland Pressure Washing for routine maintenance commercial cleaning at your property, your commercial property will have a better appearance and all chewing gum removal problems will be dealt with!
